Monday Review - North Norfolk Part 2

We are home again after a lovely week away - it is becoming a bit of a tradition for us to visit Norfolk every four years.  We stayed in Hunstanton when Minibakebakegirl was 4 and then stayed near Holt when she was 8.

On the way to and from our holiday home in Wells-Next-The-Sea we stopped off at Holt - a very pretty little town, with lovely little "Mum" shops, cafes and restaurants.  We had lunch in Byfords on the way (My drink below is cranberry and orange with a dash of elderflower - gorgeous!) and breakfast in The Barn on the way home.

The beaches in Norfolk are so picturesque.  Wells with its lovely beach-huts -  we saw one for sale for a mere £60,000!

Brancaster is my favourite beach.  Is is worth walking a bit further along from the main part and it feels like you have the beach to yourself!  The only problem with this is that on the day we were here a huge thunderstorm rolled in.   We packed up our things as fast as we could but we got caught in the hail - I have never seen a beach and car park clear so quickly! Prior to that the sun shone for hours and Minibakebakegirl and I had fun in the sea on our boogie board.

On the Thursday we visited Holkham.  We walked through the woods to the beach and then up to the house.  This is only open 3 days a week and it was very busy but was interesting to walk round - they had a World War 1 exhibition.

Afterwards we went to Burnham Market for coffee at The Burnhams, we had been here 4 years ago when it was called Lucy's.  They are still serving huge slices of yummy cake!  I had the lemon cake - Minibakebakegirl and Hubby had the chocolate cake - Minibakbakegirl was defeated by the size of it!

On our last day we visited Sheringham.  The last time we came here we got the steam train from Holt - this time we drove along the stunning coastline.

One thing I will miss about the converted barn we stayed in is the stunning roof - I loved the constantly changing colours.

Hope to see you in 4 years time Norfolk!

Thanks for visiting,
Bakebakegirl
